Do Something — John Maxwell

Make it happen … act! Do something ! Complaining or expecting alone about a circumstance does not make things to happen.

Complaining about how volatile things are in your initiatives? Complaining about it or setting unrealistic expectations will do nothing for the better! Do something! Create a vision! Vision that is clear, compelling, concise, consistent and committed to.

Complaining about how uncertain things are in your initiatives? Complaining about it or setting unrealistic expectations will do nothing for the better! Do something! Understand what’s creating the uncertainty. Be probabilistic not deterministic; and keep increasing the probability.

You are trying to determine what’s going to happen … you don’t know what’s going to happen! — Doc Rivers

There are no guarantees in life … you cannot deterministically pin point what’s going to happen! What you can do, however, is to increase the probability …

Complaining about how complex things are in your initiatives? Complaining about it or setting unrealistic expectations will do nothing for the better! Do something! Create clarity! Make your vision, clear. Chunk down big things into small things. Chunk up seemingly unrelated small pieces into a collective of similar pieces. Have a big picture that you can zoom in and zoom out… so you can connect the dots.

Complaining about how ambiguous things are in your initiatives? Complaining about it or setting unrealistic expectations will do nothing for the better! Do something! We cannot see everything. Embrace agility. By responding to change rather than following an earlier set plan (i.e., intentional design) allows us to entertain emergent thoughts for the best possible outcome.
