Be Curious

Day three… another sunny day!

Early morning sunrise…view from our room. As I looked around, I noticed something… there is a tram station just by our hotel!

It is the Convention Station!

I have to check this out…now!” I said to myself.

I took the lift (elevator) down to the station.

Then, I went to the Convention station’s platform…

I looked around.

And there I saw, again, a poster of the 2023 FIFA World Cup — which is on-going during our visit.

and more info… about the tram route… there I saw that we are just three stops to Chinatown.

Also, I can see that I can get off at Capitol Station then walk to Chinatown Station to get to Circular Quay. That means… no more walking across Pyrmont Bridge if we do not want to. Awesome!

I took pictures of other things that I thought a “Release Train Engineer” should learn from… have useful information for Pre-PI Planning, PI Planning, and PI Execution for smooth experience for people… just like these posters’ intent: smooth experience for people.

and many more…

Anyway, I got curious.

So, I took the train to Capitol Station… used my iPhone for “Tap On/Off” — first time to use my iPhone for this… so it is a good experiment… probe… sense… respond. And I did not unlock it… I just tapped it unlocked… to see if the poster is correct…

It worked!

The Capitol Station…

Chinatown Station is just 100 feet away across Capitol Station.

This platform is along George Street… and it goes straight to Circular Quay.

It is a crossroad… for tram rails as well…

And you can tell that you are in Chinatown… a remarkably interesting place…  got to see more of this place.

In fact, I’ve seen a lot of places that we must visit in this area, like the Paddy’s Market. for example.

My curiosity led from one thing to another…  and I now know more… and will only help us in our future adventures in this area.

On my way back… there I experienced the “Tap On/Off” checkers. So, I presented my iPhone that I used to Tap-On when I was asked to do so. It was very cool. It is good to experience such a random check.

Key Idea: Be curious. Probe. Check things out. See what happens. Sometimes, there are things that we can only perceive through probing, sensing, and retrospective.

There are many other ideas like this — short but sweet ideas —  in my new book, ‘SAFe (6.0) Is like …’ . It is available on Amazon… and it has reached ‘# 1 New Release’ several times! Check it out.
