In our trip to Pagudpud, we’ve seen and experienced a lot. To us, every moment is a once-in-a-lifetime kind-of-thing… will not happen again… it is fleeting… something to cherish, value…
and seize!
So, we did! We tried to see, photograph, and experience as much as we could in 1 day.

The magnificent Kapurpurawan — white rock formation
And many more…
Looking back, I’m glad that we’ve carved up some time to go to Pagudpud — located at the North side of the Philippines… and slowed down along the way to see, photograph, and experience a lot of wonderful places (and its people) as we went up north to Pagudpud, and down south as we drove back to Manila.
Our kids got new perspectives that could only positively impact them for the rest of their lives.
Ichi-go Ichie-e is in our mindset.
Key Idea: Embrace Ichi-go Ichi-e. Make it part of your mindset. Make every moment a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Ichi-go Ichi-e is also great for teams and ARTs – it could help them become more in tuned in the present… it anchors us in the here and now… where important things are happening.
Paying more attention to what happens around us — having more curious and observant outlook — allows us (our teams and ARTs) to adjust and respond accordingly to changes sooner rather than later… instead of mindlessly following a plan (i.e., in automatic mode).
Only when paying attention and awareness together as a team and an ART can we truly receive everything each one of us has to offer. Lack of attention to others is one major source of conflict. Ichi-go Ichi-e is a call for us to pay attention.
There are many other ideas like this — short but sweet ideas — in my new book, ‘SAFe (6.0) Is like …’ . It is available on Amazon… and it has reached ‘# 1 New Release’ several times! Check it out.
