In SAFe, a Big Hairy and Audacious Idea (BHAI)) — that meets the Portfolio Threshold must go through and under the Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) scrutiny lens — i.e., it must goes through Lean Governance… among other things. A BHAI cannot just enter through the system without scrutiny and approval (i.e., among other things, the LPM folks will look at and approve your BHAI’s Lean Business Case (LBC))
Likewise with travelling… one cannot just enter a certain country… you need to be scrutinized first before that country gives you a Visa — a must-have travel document for entry.
Note:
- For Americans who intend to visit the Philippines for less than 30 days, there is no requirement for them to obtain a Visa.
-
- For analogy to SAFe: think of this “no Visa needed” as: “does not meet the Portfolio Threshold… it can proceed… and it does not need to go through and under the Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) scrutiny lens).
-
- For Americans who intend to visit Australia for however many days, there is a requirement for them to obtain a Visa (Electronic Travel Authority).
So, secure a Visa in advance… and check out other requirements to entry (e.g., as of this writing, the Philippines requires travelers to complete an eTravel).
Tip: For faster processing (fast flow) through U.S.A. immigration, you might want to get a Global Entry from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
My succeeding posts are about my family’s travel to the Philippines and Australia… and we are taking SAFe and the Lean Agile Way of Living with us… and see how others outside of the USA are doing with the Lean Agile Way of Living. Each post will have a Key Idea for you to ponder upon if you wish.
Key Idea: There are requirements to entry; get these completed and approved in advance — it is a “show stopper” otherwise.
There are many other ideas like this — short but sweet ideas — in my new book, ‘SAFe (6.0) Is like …’ . It is available on Amazon… and it has reached ‘# 1 New Release’ several times! Check it out.
